Last week we discussed how often the Western obsession with quick, one-time fixes for chronic problems leads to pain and disappointment.
And we promised you 5 Steps to turn it around.
Let go of the addiction to instant gratification and short-term “easy” — with its many hidden costs —
and start creating the good life on multiple levels.
Here it is:
1. Honest
Get honest and consciously ask yourself what is really important to you right now. This isn’t the place for what you think you should want, what your parents want for you, what is easiest or most comfortable to want. This is the place where you get “real” about the most important things to YOU.
2. Accurate
Get help pinpointing the specific thing(s) that is really important to you right now. It may not be the same as what you used to want. It may not, at first, be pretty. There is much more power in admitting that at the moment you want to throw a fit and wallow in the negative pleasure of lower energies, than there is in being in that space but pretending your not. Follow the truth and you will release more energy and be able to deepen your truth. Avoid the truth and you will continue to have trouble finding effective action. (Hint: When you get this right, it is both more core to who you are and simpler to act upon than the tangles most people make for themselves with this step).
3. Actionable
Practice regular actions that are in alignment with that real, authentic want. This means you must be considering the choices you are making and asking yourself if they are in service of your goal. The two most common mistakes here: 1) Skipping this step altogether 2) Inflating the action unnecessarily (ie, when noticing you become aware of a negative thought is the next step in your evolution, inflating that into, “I need 4 weeks in an Ashram.” Keep it real, keep it simple and keep it about YOU, not anyone else, looks, or other people’s should’s.
4. Consistent
Take it slow, keep it small. C comes before T! (Consistency comes before Transformation!) I swear, it may be counterintuitive, but it is true. You will get greater results faster by focusing on honest, accurate, actionable, REAL steps that feel uplifting to you, rather than extreme or overwhelming things that seem too hard. The place for HUGE leaps is in your VISION, in your sense of what is possible. But you get there by taking the step that’s right next to where you are, not by pretending you are ready to take the step that’s next to where you will be. This strategy keeps you moving, not stuck in your reasons why not.
5. Quality
Even small successes with these steps up-levels both the quality AND the quantity of energy in your field. Repeated small successes train you in what it’s like to feel good. At a very basic level, what you experience is a result of an increase of your energetic vibration — raising your vibration will immediately alter your experience in many, life-changing ways.
So, now that you have more energy available for conscious co-creation in your life, you are ready to make better choices for yourself. These steps are SIMPLE, yet they may not always be easy. However, they work. Through them, you CAN create what you really want.
Let’s face it, you don’t want easy like instant mac-and-cheese, which cooks up fast and cheap and kills you a little bit going down, YUCK!
You want to be making better choices for yourself, your family, your business. You can, no matter what your circumstance, feel better and live more directly engaged with the dance that is your life. Don’t sacrifice the good life because sleepwalking through your life blunts the pain of facing the lower-energy truths. Face them, free all the energy that is inside you and use this energy to create at the level you have always wanted!
